Deep River

The Connecticut Transition Academy campus is situated overlooking the Connecticut River, in the town of Deep River. This picturesque community, established in 1635, is home to historic architecture, vibrant civic groups, and a thriving downtown scene with independent shops and restaurants. It’s also home to the largest one-day gathering of fife and drum corps in the world, The Deep River Ancient Muster, held annually on the third Saturday of July. The lovely Deep River Landing is where the famed Essex Steam Train connects with the Becky Thatcher Riverboat and its full schedule of wildlife and seasonal cruises. Community-minded organizations, including the Deep River Land Trust, Historical Society, Rotary Club, Garden Club, Merchants Association and many others, receive robust support. Deep River is a community proud of its historic past and warmly open to new visitors, new business ventures, new opportunities and new friends. To learn more, visit deepriverct.us.
